Remote recovery: What happens when the 12-steps move online?

Addiction thrives on isolation. In the pandemic, it has made meetings of Narcotics Anonymous all the more imperative – and challenging. There were fears the shift to online meetings during lockdown would undermine useful connections. What has transpired is surprising – and uplifting. Sophie Berrill reports.
