Rethinking education for the children of the robot revolution

How do we prepare students for a future beyond imagination? Educators say we must value and teach skills that can’t be downloaded – among them teamwork, empathy, problem solving. Benjamin Silvester reports.

In late April, the Government released its review of Australia’s education system, known popularly as Gonski 2.0. The report has recommended major changes to the way that students are taught and assessed, but some education experts have suggested that these changes only scratch the surface of a system that is fast becoming redundant.
