In Melbourne’s winter of lockdown, a warm meal made all the difference
Melbourne’s record-breaking COVID-19 lockdown turned the CBD into a ghost town, but every Wednesday, snaking down an empty Flinders Lane, a line of people would queue patiently in front of a Chinese restaurant called Tian38 to collect a free meal. This photoessay by Shiyang Tang launches our ‘Snapshots of Lockdown’ series, documenting some of the ways Melburnians navigated life in COVID lockdown.
