CAJ students nominated for Press Club Quill honors

Two recent University of Melbourne journalism graduates have been nominated for coveted Quills in the annual Melbourne Press Club’s journalism awards.

Caroline Hartnett has been nominated in the category of 2022 Journalism Student of the Year for a story published in The Citizen on regenerative farming as a response to climate change – you can read it here. This story also won the climate change reporting category in the 2022 ‘Ossies’, the Journalism Education and Research Association of Australia’s national awards for student journalists.

Caroline’s nomination continues a strong tradition for Unimelb students in the MPC Quills. Our Master of Journalism graduates have won the student honours the past three years –  Petra Stock (2021), Jess Malcolm (2020) and Liam Petterson (2019). Other student journalism nominees this year are Grace Baldwin (Monash University), Angus Delaney (Swinburne University of Technology), and Thomas Monaghan (RMIT).
