Joining her on the list of finalists are two CAJ alumni. Charlotte Grieve, a former Citizen cadet now a reporter for The Age and The Sydney Morning Herald, is nominated in science and environment category for her investigative series Carbon sharks: Private companies cashing in on ancient practices.

Another former CAJ cadet Jordyn Beazley, now with The Guardian, is part of the Broken Justice team nominated as a finalist for the Our Watch Award for excellence in reporting on violence against women. The nomination includes her co-authored piece with Josh Nicholas, ‘Why didn’t you tell anyone?’: the perceptions about ‘real rape’ that are so hard to shake.

The winners will be announced at the Walkley Mid-Year Mid-Year Media Prizes in Sydney on June 19.
