The Yarn again in line for Australian Podcast Awards

After winning gold in the Australian Podcast Awards last year, our student podcast The Yarn is again in contention for national award honours.

The Yarn again in line for Australian Podcast Awards

CAJ’s student podcast, The Yarn, has been shortlisted for climate coverage in the 2023 Australian Podcast Awards.

“It’s a massive achievement,” said Senior Lecturer Dr Louisa Lim, CAJ’s audio specialist and executive produce of The Yarn, which is the only student-produced podcast shortlisted in the climate genre category.

It’s nominated alongside three ABC productions – Saving The Franklin, Threads, and Who’s Gonna Save Us? Other nominees are The Conversation’s Fear and Wonder and Grit: One Road In, One Road Out, which was produced in collaboration with communities from the bushfire-impacted Shoalhaven region of New South Wales.

The 2023 nomination follows success in the same awards in 2022, when The Yarn won gold in the climate category.

The Yarn also recently won bronze for the best student documentary at the New York Festival Radio Awards 2023.

Full details of the Australian Podcast Awards are available here. Winners will be announced in Sydney on 21 November.
