A weekly get-together for students with a fondness for juggling and pizza has grown into a comedy showcase for around 20 fledgling performers, and nurtured shows that have found their way into the Melbourne Comedy Festival. “I think Australia is really starting to ride the wave away from American comedy – very sterile, produced – to some crazy, explorative, clowning European audience stuff… which I think is good,” says founder Jacob Sacher.
