Sanctuary traditionally means a place of shelter or protection, yet people can seek sanctuary in a shared pastime, a beloved companion or even in simple human contact.  In this video series, Seeking Sanctuary, The Citizen examines what sanctuary means in modern-day Australia.  

Each year, The Village Festival hits Melbourne’s Edinburgh Gardens for a unique event that bills itself as “part old-school circus, part village carnival, and part edgy arts festival”.
