Podcasts are capturing the ears — and hearts — of listeners the world over. An army of audio enthusiasts are turning to this growing medium in search of fascinating personal stories, insightful political analysis and, even, a few belly laughs.

One of America’s most successful podcasters, Manoush Zomorodi, will be in Sydney on Friday sharing her podcasting expertise with wannabe storytellers and podcast enthusiasts at this year’s ABC-sponsored OzPod 2016.

Zomorodi is host of WNYC Studios’ popular podcast Note to Self, the “tech show about being human”.

Through episodes such as ‘The Thing about Texts from your Ex’, ‘6 Algorithms That Can Improve Your Life’ and ‘The Realities of Virtual Reality’, Note to Self introduces listeners to technology through a human perspective, helping make sense of our sometimes overly-connected world.

Buffy Gorrilla caught up with Zomorodi ahead of her Australian visit to talk about unique names — and all things pod.
